B Clarke Tom and John Rousseau built a beautiful basement recreation room in our house. The basement design included a fireplace enclosure, built in bookcases, pine paneled walls, a closet under the stairs, and imaginative designs to cover those irregularities found in basements. The Rousseaus are experienced working with homeowners. They are extremely easy to work with and very professional. Their expert knowledge and guidance helped us with the many design choices. The Rousseaus kept us informed during each phase of construction, were very flexible about modifications to our plan, and left the construction site as clean as they found it. We are very pleased with the final product. Sharon and Bruce Rousseau Building Services has done several projects for us in the past four years. They have built overhead storage in our garage with pull-down stairs, installed peg board and cabinets in our garage, installed cabinets in our laundry room and misc. electrical work. Last summer, they embarked on their largest project at our home, a 16' x 20' screened- in-porch. It turned out beautifully! We lived in there last summer and part of the fall. John and Tom stuck to the original price-quote in all cases. All jobs were done in a timely manner. They were sensitive to not dragging out the job and taking on too many other jobs at the same time. We completely trusted them in my home without me being present. They even had a key to our home while we were on vacation. Detail is important to them and they take great pride in making sure that the customer is happy by being able to respond pleasantly to questions and/or criticism. Being responsive to follow-up issues is also important to them. Because hiring subcontractors can sometimes concern us, we were delighted that John and Tom did 97% of the work. Tom also has a great understanding and respect for the legal work that needs to be done in some cases, for example, local building inspector and getting a town building permit. My two sons loved watching them work and the Rousseaus were a pleasure to have around. I never had to worry about them speaking in an inappropriate language with the boys around nor listening to annoying and/or inappropriate music in their presence. We hope to finish our basement in the future and look forward to working with Rousseau Building Services.
